Index-only means docspi never moves or copies your source files: the tree holds structure, metadata, and content hashes. If you publish a document or serve it on a white-label custom domain, docspi stores a copy of that document's content so it can be delivered.

Does docspi store my files?
For the virtual tree, no: docspi stores only the index (tree structure, metadata, mappings, and content hashes), and your source files stay exactly where they are. One exception: if you publish a document or serve it on a white-label custom domain, docspi stores a copy of that document's content so it can be delivered. Unpublishing removes it from delivery.
Which AI agents does docspi support?
docspi supports any AI agent that speaks the Model Context Protocol (MCP), including Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and more. Built with MCP from day one.
